What is Panchang Explained
Basic Introduction:
So hello my lovely friends! Have you seen your grandmother or mother reading a small book in the morning?? or have you seen a Pandit G looking at a calander before fixing a marriage date???
That book is called “Panchang”.
Many young people today think, that, “Oh, this is old fashion. I don’t need this.” But wait, What happened if i tell you that panchang is like a “Cosmic Weather Report”??
Just like you check the weather app before going out (to see if it will rain), you should check the Panchang to see if your day will be lucky or unlucky. It is not magic. It is pure science of planets.
In this my blog, i am going to tell you what is Panchang is very simple words. Even a 5th standard student can easily understand this. I will tell you the 5 main point that control your whole life.
What is “Panchang”.???
The word Panchang is made of two words:
- Panch = Five
- Ang = Parts (Limbs)
So, it means “Five Parts”. Just like your body has hands, legs, and head, the Hindu Calendar has 5 parts. If one part is bad, the day becomes weak. If all 5 parts are good, you will get success in whatever you do.
Let’s see what these 5 parts are.
The 5 Limbs (The Secret Code)
Every day, the moon and sun change their position. this create 5 things.
- Tithi (The lunar Day)
You already know that the moon changes shapes everyday, right??? Sometimes it is big and round (Full Moon), sometimes it is invisible (New Moon)
- What it is: Tithi tells us the “Mood” of the Moon
- .How it helps: Some Tithis are good for happy work (like marriage), and some are good for sad work (like prayer for ancestors).
- Simple Rule: Try to do good work on “Full Moon” side (Shukla Paksha).
2. Vara (The Weekday)
This is the very easiest. It is just the day of the week.
- What it is: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday… There are 7 Varas.
- How it helps: Each day has a planet ruler.
- Sunday (Sun): Good for goverment work or meeting boss.
- Monday (Moon): Good for calm work.
- Tuesday (Mars): Good for fighting or hard physical work (but dont start marriage talks).
- Saturday (Saturn): Good for cleaning or machinery work.
3. Nakshatra (The Star)
This is the most important part. The sky is divided into 27 houses. The moon visits one house everyday. That house is called Nakshatra.
- What it is: It is the “Address” where the Moon is sleeping tonight.
- How it helps: If the Moon is in a good Nakshatra (like Rohini or Pushya), your work will be fast. If it is in a angry Nakshatra (like Bharani), you might face fighting.
4. Yoga (The luck connection)
Yoga means “Total” or “Sum”. Its calculated by adding the position of sun and moon. i think you understand that what i am saying.
- What it is: This shows the “Relationship” between the Sun (Father) and Moon (Mother).
- How it helps: There are 27 Yogas. Some have scary names like Visha (Poison) or Vajra (Thunder). You should avoid starting new business in bad Yogas.
5. Karana (The Action)
The Karana is the half of a Tithi.
- What it is: If Tithi is the day, Karana is the “Work” of the day.
- How it helps: It tells you what to do. For example, one Karana is called ‘Vishti’ (Bhadra). It is very bad. No good work should be done in Bhadra.
Why should you care about it???
You might ask, “Why should I waste time checking this??”
Imagine you want to open a new shop. You did everything right—good location, good paint, good products. But you opened it on a Tuesday (Day of War) during Rahu Kaal (Bad Time) and Bhadra Karana.
Result?? Maybe your shop may be have fighting, or customer will not come.
But if you picked a Thursday (Guru’s Day) with a good Nakshatra, Your shop would run smoothly.
It is like swimming. You can swim against the river flow (Hard work), or you can swim with the flow (Smart work). Panchang helps you swim with the flow of nature.
How to check it ??
You dont need to learn big calculation. In old times, people used books. now, it is very easy.
- Open any Astrology website or App ( like NakshatraAI.Com ).
- Just look at “Today’s Panchang”.
- Check if the “Yoga” and “Nakshatra” are positive.
- Check “Rahu kaal” time (avoid that 90 minutes)
That’s it! it takes only 1 mintue.
In the end, here is my conclusion
So my friends, Panchang is not superstition,. It is a tool to help you. Its help us to plan our life is better.
From tomorrow, try this small habit. Before you leave your house, just check “Is today a good Tithi?” or “What is the Nakshatra today?”. You will see that your diffcult works will become easy.
